Marriage

So Simon was talking to Isaac about marriage. It has become a topic of discussion for Isaac lately. Isaac is afraid that he will have to go live with a new family & what about us??? So were trying to explain to him that we will always be his family. There will just be more people to love. He does not like this idea at all. He told his dad that he is gonna marry me when he grows up.

I am sure all little boys want to marry their mom at one time or another but it melted my heart when he said that. At least I have his heart for a little while. Just another reminder of how fast my babies are growing up.

Happy 4th Birthday to my 1st born

Thank you Lord for being faithful to us. We did not know what unconditional love truly was until they handed this little guy to us.

He has a heart of gold & is a little on the shy side. But the minute you get past that shyness he is a ball of energy. Trying to be silly all the time. He has self drive. He wanted to be great in all he does. I cannot wait to see what kind of man he becomes.......

Under Construction

It's official. The backyard is officially under construction. Sorry Ruby no more competition on the worlds best weeds. :) Now that Isaac is old enough he wants to play out doors more & his backyard was not the place. Lets just say I would loose him back there. Poor Simon has wanted to fix up the yard for so long now but time had always been against him. Also it can become very expensive very fast. So he got tired the other day & said I don't care it's going to get done. It may not be our dream backyard but it is going to be a place where the kids can play & hang out for now. Isaac had so much fun "helping" his daddy. He came in and told me "my daddy is making me a new backyard". :) Well check back for new pictures as each weekend we will be making progress.

Did I fall off the face of the earth???

Hey everyone.....I know it's been awhile. Well we finally got a new hard drive for the computer, now it's about making time to install it. So check back soon I promise to try my hardest to get it done. So in the mean time I will talk. :) My pregnancy is going well. Only 6 weeks to go! So I am busy getting things washed & organized. You know me everything has to have a place & imagine that with pregnancy hormones! Yeah you get the point. Isaac is good too. Thank God! I know I have not been able to post about it but I will....he was hospitalized in Jan. with R.S.V. it's like phenomena but a virus. So that was a mini trial all on it's own. They said his lungs may be affected in the long run but only time would tell. Now that the season is changing we are noticing the problems. :( He gets a bad cough when he wakes up or when he has been outside for awhile. A breathing treatment fixes him right up. So now our prayer is that in time this will all go away. But so far it's not too bad.

Well I will post some old but new pictures & blog about them soon. So check back but you will have to go back to January because that it where I left off. Til then.........

God will never give you more then you can handle....

Most of you all know that Isaac was very sick but for those of you that do not or don't know the entire story here it goes. Bear with me it's a long one.

Isaac woke up with a runny nose. Then as the day went on it was joined with a slight fever. So I gave him some Motrin to keep the fever down. He was feeling good but the fever would not break. So about the 2nd or 3rd day he stared with a cough that did not sound so good but was not terrible. So Sunday Simon & I took him to urgent care. They told us it was a viral infection & to keep up with what we were already doing.

Well as you all know from an older post I don't have that much faith in urgent care. So I decided to take him to his normal doctor on Monday because his cough only sounded worse. She said at that point Isaac's lungs sounded clear & it was looking like it was a viral infection. So once again I took home a sick child home. By that night he was worse his cough was so bad he could not sleep & all he did was cry. So as soon as his doctor opened on Wednesday morning I called them & brought him in. I was not taking no for a answer as a mom you know when something is wrong & there was no way he was okay. You want to believe the positive but he was way to sick.

As soon as the doctor walked in she said "can you lift his shirt? I want to watch his breathing." As soon as I did that her face changed, literally. So she listened to his lungs & then turned around & told me he can barley breath. It sounds like he may have the bargaining of pnenmonia. To avoid hospitalization she gave him a shot of steroids at her office, then gave him a breathing treatment. She also had a rush order placed for a breathing machine to come to the house so I could keep giving him treatments through the night. She wanted to see us first thing in the morning so she could check on him. She said if he was not better he would have to be hospitalized. As a mom you don't want that for your child. Even though he would get the best treatment in the hospital it was still very hard to hear.

Well Thursday morning I was one of the first ones there & they had bad news. Isaac was not any better so they called into the hospital & let us know that we had to take him directly there. My poor baby had no idea what he was in for. Once we got into his room they pinned him down & put an iv in him. Then they started testing. One test was for a virus called R.S.V. I had never heard of it but I was about to be schooled on it. The nurse told me it mimics the same symptoms as pneumonia & if he did have it he would have to be quarantined. Of course it came back positive. I guess this year they have had an epidemic of this going around. It affects kids from birth to about 2 yrs. The bad thing about it is that most of us will carry the virus on us & never know. In most people it can act like a common cold & nothing more. For some kids they get it but it acts like a virus & nothing more. For other kids it attacks their lungs & they have to be hospitalized. The other bad thing is that when you are the most contagious is 2 to 3 days before even showing signs of being sick & it can live on a surface for up to 48 hrs.

I cannot began to tell you how hard of a time it was for me. I slept at the hospital for the next 5 days. All Isaac did was cry, sleep, or just sit there. All I wanted was my playful monkey back. Since he was quarantine he could not leave his room & all his visitors had to suit up to visit him. It was even harder because Simon had just started a new job so he could not take any time off so I felt so alone. He would work hard all day & they come to the hospital at night & stay til visiting hrs. were over. Thank God for moms! My mom took the first plane out & surprised me. She stayed by my side the entire time. It gave me a break to grab lunch or to run home & take a shower. All of Isaac's visitors helped lift all our spirits. I remember the first day they took us down to ex-ray & I was feeling super down & when we walked back in the room, there was my Tia Angie & Tio Jimmy waiting for us. They stayed for a few hours & that lifted my spirits so much.

Thank God for His healing hand. Isaac is going great & he never wants to go back to the hospital again. It was very cute when he was getting his discharge papers. Simon's Aunts, Katrina & Stephanie had come to visit him. They brought him an Elmo stuffed animal. So he had it & was using it to peek around the corner to the nurses station. They thought it was too cute. They when the doc. gave us the green light my mom & I cheered. Then he ran out to the nurses station & said "yeah Isaac Garcia is going home!"

Thank you everyone who visited him & for those of you who had him on every prayer chain possible. THANK YOU!
Grandma & Isaac watching a movie

Isaac's Auntie Ina & Tia Rachel

So now when Daddy would come Isaac always tried so hard to play & we wanted him to as well. We had to get pretty creative so this is what his dad had him doing........
This was him with his Elmo peeking out to the nurses & us saying goodbuy!!!!

He fell off the wagon

We have been very successfully potty training Isaac.....well that was until yesterday. For the past two weeks he has been out of diapers with no accidents. Last night we had an eye appointment by our pastors house, so we were also going to visit afterward. Thank God I packed for that! I had an extra pair of sweats & chonies (underwear). For the evening I packed a diaper & P.J.'s. Well I went into my exam, all was great. Then it was Simon's turn, Isaac asked to go to the bathroom a few times so we did. When he asked the 3rd time I realized he was not asking he had already gone! So daddy put him in the car and changed him. Now off to our pastors house. They have 6 kids so Isaac LOVES to hang out with them. Now let me explain something there house is literally 2 min. from the eye doc. As we are pulling onto the street they live off of Isaac lets us know he has to go potty. No he did not have to go, he already DID go, AGAIN! So we had to change him again. I really thought for sure we were out of the woods but I guess not. Well I will keep you all posted on the progress....
